KEEPING JERSEY’S OLIGARCHY SAFE.
Stuart Syvret to be Arrested and Charged
For Publishing the Truth.
Eleven Child Rapists and Batterers
To be let-off.
Just a very brief posting – and sadly it might be my last for some time – as I have just learnt that I’m required at Police Headquarters at 5.00 pm this afternoon where I will be arrested and charged with supposed breaches of the Data Protection Law.
I don’t know if I’ll receive unconditional bail – if not, they’ll keep in the slammer overnight – if not longer.
I’m going to try and get there around 4.50 to speak to some of the media if you feel like coming along to watch.
Just to place my supposed gross criminality in context – I’m going to be arrested and charged – one day after Bill Bailhache – Jersey’s Attorney General - announces – without apparent embarrassment – that 11 of the accused child rapists, child batterers and concealers of child abuse are not to be charged and the cases against them dropped.
And to think – some people still labour under the delusion that the administration of justice and proper rule of law actually works in Jersey.
Though, having said that – you just couldn’t pay for stupidity of this grade.
Ironically – as far as I’m aware – as the police have never given me formal notification of any change in circumstances – Bill Bailhache, Emma Martins, Bill Ogley – and a number of similar Jersey oligarchs, remain under criminal investigation for conspiracy to pervert the course of justice, and misconduct in a public office.
Oh well – pretty handy I guess – being in charge of prosecution decisions – when you’re under investigation.
Right – now what I need are two States members who will go and have a private, secret meeting with Bill Bailhache – and ask him to drop the charges – and there you go!
Sorted.
I mean, if it’s good enough for Roy Boschat to get away with bribing cops - following Deputy Egre and Senator Ferguson going to ask Bailhache to let him off – then it’s good enough for me.
Remember – we’re all equal before the law!
Let me leave you with this observation, made by Harry S. Truman:
“My choice early in life was either to be a piano-player in a whorehouse – or a politician. And to tell the truth – there’s hardly any difference.”
I’m just going outside now. I may be some time.
Stuart.

You may not see this note for a while but may I be the first to wish you good luck on your journey into the unknown.
Peace be with you!
Truth Will Out
Good Luck Stuart-try the "no comment" ploy-it works just fine over here I believe....however many times you get lifted!.
The reason Billy boy was not available for comment yesterday is probably because he was on the boat to St Malo on Saturday.
I am not sure if he was going on holiday or popping down to let Mrs maguire know that she was officially off the hook.
OMG!
This is a total outrage!
Keep strong; you have much support and we will not let this go sown without a fight.
Stuart.
If I would have had notice, I'd have come down with my camera, maybe next time!
Oh how they think they are going to shut us all up and try and get us to 'go away'.
What unsubtle tactics they use. It seems the whole Island is talking now.'They' have really stirred it up.
Good Luck Stuart - yhou have a lot of support.
So...you think you are safe Lario Mundy.
You think you have escaped what is truly due to you.
You are wrong, oh so wrong. People will not give up until they get JUSTICE.
shocking, shocking, shocking. I really hate this place - and don/t tell me "there is a boat in the morning" - because this is my home and i was born here - but do I feel ashamed on this culture.
Good God, how much worse can it get. However, loads of the middle jersey people I work with believe the spin and think Stuart is crazy and going crazier. I tell them I disagree totally and that they should take their heads out of the sand or their noses out of the trough.
Sanctimonious Hipocrits - one law for one for another.
What is this Custards last stand as AG. The man is a fool.
YOU SHOULD RING THE JEP like last time i mean you are such an avide supporter of this paper
Ring the JEP?
Don't worry - allready done it.
Needs must etc.
Stuart
Well - if people think it is crazy to battle against child abuse - then perhaps they need to look into themselves - and really question their own 'wisdom'.
Oh - by the way - I'm out, in case that wasn't obvious; two charges under the data protection law - both very incompetently written.
And - guess what? The charging officer stated unambiguosly that the charges had been brought under the direction of Bill Bailhache.
Justice - Jersey style.
Stuart
Vague charges? You couldn't make it up!!
Good to see you out so quickly. The length of my posts have been shorter of late. Circumstances are self-explanatory.
Ryan M
Re: And - guess what? The charging officer stated unambiguosly that the charges had been brought under the direction of Bill Bailhache.
The sooner the ordinary working class Jersey men and women rid this Island of the parasitical and corrupt families such as the Bailhaches'.
The Sooner this Island will become a decent place to live and raise our children!
They just cannot let it happen, and if The States of Jersey, so called "authority" have their way it will not happen.
They are fighting tooth and nail to not let their man incharge of Childrens Education get done for Child Abuse....
Because the rest of the world would be absolutely horrified!
Danny Wherry worked for SoJ Children Services up until he was arrested for alleged child abuse, when released he was moved to SoJ Property Holdings, after being arrested again for alleged child abuse, then again released he was then suspended on full pay....
Now that all charges against him have been dropped will he get his job back at SoJ Children Services?!
Stuart,
Does that mean I don't have to bake the cake with the file in it to set you free?
Grrrrrr to Bill Bailhache and justice Jersey style! That excuse for a man/AG or whatever you want to call him has probably been instructed by his brother to put you through the mill and sling mud at you for literally anything and everything they can come up with...B*stards!
Bill, if you did your job properly, started punishing abusers, perverts, murderers and other accomplices for their heinous crimes then none of this would have happened. You are a pitiful excuse for an AG who thinks he's above the law, but let me tell you something mate...YOU'RE NOT!!!! One day you will be accountable for what you do and that day can't come soon enough for me.
Stuart
You said, "And - guess what? The charging officer stated unambiguosly that the charges had been brought under the direction of Bill Bailhache."
Now just how likely do you think the old bayleaf is to admit that, if he thinks he willface external criticism?
As old folks say here, "The truth is just not in him."
welcome back Stuart, please rest assure there are many decent folk here that whole heartedly support you and the very just cause you are campaigning for.
I just wish to god there was more we could do to help, not being directly involved in any case, but simply an observer is extremely frustrating and watching all the horrors unfold on a daily basis really is very depressing.
How can the other states members, the UK Government and the World sit back and watch this travesty unfold.
Something must be done and NOW
Having just read an article relating to Sinel I think you have got one mighty good Advocate representing you who is not adverse to taking on silly billy.
Meanwhile glad your home, saved me baking a cake with a saw in the middle.
I believe that children are our future
Teach them well and let them lead the way
Show them all the beauty they possess inside
Give them a sense of pride to make it easier
Let the children's laughter remind us how we used to be
Everybody searching for a hero
People need someone to look up to
I never found anyone who fulfilled my needs
A lonely place to be
And so I learned to depend on me
I decided long ago, never to walk in anyone's shadows
If I fail, if I succeed
At least I live as I believe
No matter what they take from me
They can't take away my dignity
Because the greatest love of all
Is happening to me
I found the greatest love of all
Inside of me
The greatest love of all
Is easy to achieve
Learning to love yourself
It is the greatest love of all
And if by chance, that special place
That you've been dreaming of
Leads you to a lonely place
Find your strength in love
Some lovely lyrics for all the abuse survivors who have been SO let down by our 'justice' system.
Stuart, I guess you will once again refuse trial in the Jersey Court system once you can decipher exactly what the charges against you are!!
Keep up the good work Stuart, dont let the likes of these small minded people(if you can call them that ) get to you, If they put more energy it to catching the real crimails in this corrupt island it might not be in the state its in !
Never stop fighting the good fight... As I often say, the truth will out.
Hopefully like-minded people (ie. those who regularly read this blog) will organise public protests in support of you and your campaign against the state-sponsored corruption and discrimination which is the bailiwick of Jersey in 2009.
For what it's worth, the Jersey system of judicial process and impartiality is, in my opinion, a joke and a complete and utter disgrace. Shameful.
MARIO LUNDY
well they say truth hurts good luck stuart give them hell
Wake up middle Jersey.
13 serious child abuse cases now dropped and 1 Sentator arrested for something not serious.
Hang on...was Terry Le Main ever arrested for breaking the data protection law? No......
But they dont hate him.
How they hate you because you know so much truth they don't want out.
pleased to hear you are out Stuart
One of the posters mentioned middle Jersey and not being interested in what is going on.
I guess they didn’t go on the protest march on Saturday, maybe they would have seen just how many so called middle Jersey residents actually took part.
Times are changing and folk out there whether they be part of the establishment or other are waking up
To the fact that we are living in such a corrupt island.
Carrie and Danni keep going hold your head up high ,you are giving hope to all the other victims that perhaps have given up the fight .
Feel like a small protest tomorrow?
Come and join 10 of us in the Royal Square - to stand in protest at the swearing-in of Michael Birt as Bailiff.
10.15 am - in time for the begining of the swearing-in at 10.30.
Michael Birt is the man who - as Attorney General - did the following:
Let off the child torturing McGuires.
Let off the people who concealed the child abuse at Victoria College.
And let off the mass-murdering male nurse.
And he - with zero accountability to Jersey people - will be sworn-in as Bailiff at 10.30 tomorrow.
We know most people can't make it, because of work, and it is very short notice - but the dignity of this community requires that there be some show of disaproval.
Stuart.
Glad you are out Stuart, too late to get down to PHQ to take photo or anything else, a little more warning if possible next time please
Have just uploaded a couple more video's to youtube, I am so disgusted with the lack of justice on all fronts on this rock.
Chin up!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6y68SrjVHFE
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vfEb1X2dpw
I'm considering it. Will there be any form of organised colour cohesion?
Ah what the hell. Make that 11 of us.
Interesting use of the Data Protection Law.
It is worth asking why the States of Jersey are taking this step. The reports leaked exist but were not made public because it was not deemed to be in the public interest
Stuart released the report because he genuinely felt it was in the public interest
Who decides - the same man who decided no action should be taken in the first place. Bill the AG
Who has agreed the arrest - Bill the AG.
The only thing that stops me laughing about the Bailache brothers actions is the fact that they have abused their positions at the public's expense to satisfy their bloated egos and hurt feelings.
How much more nepotism, cronyism and malfeasance do we have to stomach.
I was so glad to see that a civil action is to be sought. Legal action in this Island needs money.
I would be happy to make a donation to the cause Stuart.
Hi Stuart
I have uploaded the videos to my blog now along with the link to your interview tonight with Channel TV to make it easier for people to find.
http://lcorby.wordpress.com/2009/07/08/senator-stuart-syvret-arrested-and-charged-in-jersey-channel-islands/
Hope it helps.
Take Care, Linda
Please - will someone organise a fighting fund for Justice - I have already said I will happily make a donation, even if it is small.
I do not live on the island, if I did I would set up one myself.
Ally
let off the mass-murdering male nurse
So where did he work after being allowed to resign from the hospital?
Anybody know?
Bill Bonehead has had you arrested under the data protection laws, just days after preventing eleven child abuse survivors from getting justice?
No way!!!
The criminality and sheer stupidity of these ruthless rascals is almost beyond belief! But that's the freemasons for you.
Laws are supposed to be for the protection of our society, they are not supposed to be used to protect crooked administrators.
I am going to write some letters to politicians and newspapers about this and I hope that other people will do the same.
I hope you are looking after yourself, Stuart, you are so brave and strong, but it must be very upsetting for you and your family.
I hope the people who have suffered at that hell hole children's "home" are also bearing up, how upsetting all of this is!It is such a hideous way to treat people who have already gone through so much already. Please, never give up on justice. I know it must seem hopeless at times, but these dreadful people must be really desperate now to do such a wicked and spiteful thing, to arrest the one politician who has turned himself inside out in order to help those who have been so cruelly treated as children.
Now surely everyone can see their true colours?
I hope plenty of people will turn out tomorrow to BOOOOOOOO at Dirt. I wish I could come, I have a really BOOOOOOOOOOOming loud voice, I would have loved to BOOOOOOOOOOOOO him. I think you ought to take placards with BOOOOOOOOOOOOO on them, just in case he can't hear your warm welcome.
"The criminality and sheer stupidity of these ruthless rascals is almost beyond belief! But that's the freemasons for you."
Not even Zoompad can be allowed to make an wild and unsubstantiated accusation like that - even on this blog.
Either put up (provsble and documented) evidence or shut up.
For the record:
** Freemasonry is not a secret society
** Freemasonry is not a religion
** Freemasopnry accepts people of all faiths who profess a belief in the Supreme Being
** There are no blood-curdling oaths to swear
** Masonic charitable giving also covers non-Masonic causes.
Even Zoompad stated in an earlier posting that the Province of Worcestershire Freemasons gave generously to anti child abuse charities in that county.* (Friday, 26 June 2009 14:46 o'clock BST)
** Freemasonry is not a political pressure group. There is no "Masonic junta" in the States Assembly.
Publishing a libel on a web blog can be pursued in the English courts, and renders both the person who utters the offending statement and its publisher liable to prosecution.
H.A.
It's time to become vocal at protests. Silent marches are unquestionably ineffective.
You guy's just don't get it, do you? The average Jersey person, isn't from Jersey, works in finance and couldn't give a damn about your cause. The last march was an absolute waste of time.
WHANNY DERRY - It ain't over 'til it's over.......
And it ain't over yet.
Oh well STuart, see the National BBC have actually reported this on their main web-page - at least it is in the National Domain - I hope plenty of people turn up to show solidarity today - you can bet your boots the AG is are now wishing that they he had left the charging for a day or two - or did they want to ensure full national publicity for todays "farcical event".
Hello Stuart.
I was abused in the 1950s and made a statement to the SJP. I made this statement:
In 1959 I was at the HDLG and one day, xxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxx xxxxx xxxxx xxx xx xxx xxx xxxxx xxxx xxx
I have decided to block out my statement for fear that one day, I shall get a knock at the door from SJP and have something nasty happen to me.
Is this Nazi Germany? you may ask,
No this is in a modern,? civilized,?
Democratic? Island
I wish to remain Anonymous as , one never knows who i reading this comment.
Hi Stuart
News link for you.
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/crime/jersey-senator-charged-with-data-offences-1738367.html
Good luck Stuart. I can empathize - I was sacked from Pembrokeshire County Council in 2006 after whistleblowing on a more senior colleague. 4 other colleagues joined me with complaints. He was found guilty (internally) of 5 separate instances of inappropriate behaviour with children; kept his job; and was given continued 1-2-1 access. It was hushed up - the councils' overwhelming concern was image.
Good luck with the swearing in protest and whilst you are there ask Birt a question for me, at a swearing in that he presided over on Monday he made a statement something along the lines of there are some cases that should not go through Jersey's courts as they are not good for the island or the people of the island, to what cases was he referring too?? Surely not the historical abuse enquiry!!
Well done everyone on the protest march at the weekend. when not working, i was caring for my children with suspected swine flu (btw, the fever started on friday night, which is when we discovered that the swine flu helpline is only open monday to friday!)
I have just found out this morning that there will be no help for abuse survivors from the group redress (redress.org) that seeks redress for torture sufferers. I had been corresponding with them since the 3rd of June to see if they would help here, but finally have been told that they "do not have the capacity to deal with any more work at the moment"
so that was a useless waste of time
"The last march was an absolute waste of time."
It most certainly was not a waste of time.
I went on a protest a couple of years ago, and so many people promised to be there, but very few of them actually made it in the end - it was a handful of people, and the rain was pouring down.
But I stood outside the Royal Court of Justice in London and did what I had promised to do regardless, and even if no-one else had turned up, I would STILL have stood in the rain for two hours and done what I said I was going to do.
It was not until after that event that the rewards from my commitment came. My determination influenced other people, and gave them the courage to fight their own corner. As a result, several of the mothers dried their tears and girded up their lions, fought their court cases and won!
Every time we make a stance for justice, we will reap a reward for our commitment. We can't even realise most of the time the effect we might be having on other people. If we have decency and justice as our motivation, even the little things we do will bring vast rewards.
Saturday's march was time very well spent. Have you seen how many hits my YouTube video of it has got already? If anyone has a YouTube account, please could you post it to all your friends? Let's wake the whole world up to the abuse in Jersey.
Zoompad
A nurse walked past the whistling protest and I overheard her saying loudly to her companion "Is that what we pay our taxes for?" - yes it is! And thank God there's at least one politician standing up for justice!!
Stuart,
Well done for having the guts to stand up for what you believe is right.
What goes around comes around. You'll be able to look at yourself in the mirror years from now, with a clear conscience, knowing you stood up for the truth. Sadly the same can't be said for the jokers that are making your life a misery at the moment. Let's hope their consciences keep them awake at night...every night.
Best wishes and "Illegitimi non carborundum"!!
What vile people the child abusers are on Jersey. Even more vile are the people letting them get away with it. Good Luck Stuart, don't let the B******s get you down.
Anna
4 quick snaps from today's protest in the square, only 4 because I didn't have long to hang about.
pr1: Protestors, wide shot
pr2: Protestors, close up
pr3: Stuart interviewed by CTV's Eric
pr4: Mia Reakes from BBC Jersey
Like Jerseycam's photos, these may be used freely with no copyright claimed. I just enjoy playing at being a reporter for Citizen's Media :-)
What is the maximum sentence you can get for this Stuart.........?
Do you need to set up a legal fund, if so start now and don't be too proud to ask.
It may not feel like it at times but there are plenty of decent people that support you - we may not be voiciferous and visible but we are here.
13 cases dropped but who will be theoir sacrifical lamb, someone like Mr Aubin who himself was brutalised whilst in care.
I am quite convinced that the hoi polloi will produce a token sacrifice.
.....and everyone said what a nice man that Dr Shipman was!
You are now on ITN News
http://itn.co.uk/a291cbc01748099be98a9a82bcdbfa2e.html
I think this will be the final straw for a lot of people -even those that sit at home and don't get involved.
BIG PROTEST TIME !
"You guy's just don't get it, do you? The average Jersey person, isn't from Jersey, works in finance and couldn't give a damn about your cause. The last march was an absolute waste of time."
Oh no it wasn't, it was more of a success than the previous one, which proves that more and more people are plucking up the courage to be seen and heard.
And believe you me the next one will be a BIGGER success. I guess you work in finance and are only bothered about your fat salary, unlike people that are more concerned with real issues.
Today's protest was a great success. There was a lot of peripheral support from a packed Royal Square, and a lot of the public congratulating the protestors on their stance.
People from the UK were approaching Stuart and wishing him all the best in his fight for justice, and I feel the message went out to all the pompous, arrogant twits who formed part of Birt's entourage.
Of course they looked down their noses and grimaced with disapproval!! None more than Sarah Ferguson who looked at us like a piece of s--te, and shook her head in disgust! Who on earth do you think you are Mrs Ferguson? Just because you have the 'title' of Senator does not make you and more superior than any of us.
This is just the start of things to come and if you don't like it, why do you not all sit down and wonder why it has come to this.
Tell the porkies that you're Augusto Pinochet; Jack Straw will let you go home immediately.
And for all those who think that they can silence Stuart or get him 'out of the way', think again because there a lot more people prepared to take up the cudgels.
Apologies I did not make it to your small protest this morning - I'm still using my phone as an alarm clock - a phone which incidentally doesn't bother to ring anymore.
Hope all went well.
Ryan M
I was in the Royal Square at about 10.15am this morning to witness the protest at Michael Birt's swearing in. I have to say that the scene was somewhat surreal. I found it quite easy to suspend by disbelief and imagine I was an extra on the set of the Truman Show. Everything was slightly out of kilter, like I'd just had the smallest dash of LSD.
Under the statue were gathered around 20 to 30 protestors with Stuart Syvret at the fulcrum of it all. He had abandoned all pretences of senatorial sartorialness and was comfortably attired in faded Jeremy Clarkson jeans complete with a natty mobile phone 'clipped on the hip' accessory. Scruffy trainers and a baggy shirt setting the whole 'protestor chic' look off magnificently. Strangely, at least whilst I was there, the protestors would fire up only intermittently with chants and whistles then go silent again for longer periods as if slightly embarrassed about causing a fuss. This seemed all very british and a bit half hearted to my mind but I did not stay for that long so maybe they upped their game later when Darth Vader (in full regalia) descended from the death star.
Some media where there. CTV had sent Eric B and Rakim (otherwise known as Curly Watts who oddly was on camera - pay cut maybe?) but the strangeness of it all was in no small part due to the amount of people in various modes of uniform or fancy dress. In fact I'd go so far as to say the whole scene was high camp and I half expected the protestors to break out into a rendition of YMCA by the Village People. Military style police flanked the perimeter of the square whilst blue tunic'd bandsmen with red braid and gold buttons mixed with the full white flowing gowns of the Town Church Choir. There was a fair smattering of bemused ageing tourists wearing the ‘de rigueur’ open toe sandals and woolly sock combination to add north of England urbane glamour chic. Highly polished local businessmen in Armani suits and churches tried vainly to move swiftly through the melee, heads down and clearly pained by the possibility of being caught on camera and ridiculed by their office colleagues over an end of week Mange Tout skinny latte.
Quite why I could not take the whole thing very seriously I do not know. After all it is a very serious issue. It surely was the fashion, or lack of it, that jarred with me so I apologize for the irreverent posting but that's just how I saw it - as one giant fashion faux pas.
This is an outrage Stuart. Keep strong, your friends in the UK support you 100%.
Saw your interview on an online TV channel, even your lawyer said:
"It's very confusing - it doesn't actually tell us what the charge is":
http://www.channelonline.tv/channelonline/DisplayArticle.asp?ID=431803
We're spreading the news as far as we can.
Hey - give us protestors a bit of slack - at least we were dressed as normal human beings.
"The Great And The Good" of the Jersey Oligarchy were, indeed, dressed in outfits so camply surreal they could have been designed by Jean Paul Gaultier.
The LG even had his dead-seagull hat on.
And don't worry about the noise - we got very vocal from 10.30 onwards - once their ceremony had begun - and even more vocal when, as you put it, Darth emerged from the Death Star.
CTV should have some good footage tonight.
Stuart
I see from the Independants article that the data protection charges are said to relate to your naming 'he who shall not be named'
on your blog of 19th March.
We did worry that could be a bit of a problem, but I'm presuming it is not actually 'he who shall not be named' who has brought the charges?
You really are a prime pillock
Really?
The betrayed survivors I was supporting and representing today don't think so.
Stuart
'Pupil murder bid' teacher held
"Police said a weapon was used in the incident on Wednesday
A science teacher has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a boy of 14 and two other pupils were hurt at a Nottinghamshire school."
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/nottinghamshire/8142428.stm
This takes child abuse to an unprecedented level.
Anonymous - it did liven up and attracted a good crowd later on.
The whistles and chants got a lot louder at the appropriate times!.
And, we weren't there for a fsahion show, but the new Bailiff looked rather like Father Christmas when he emerged from his swearing-in with all his little elves in tow.
Hey, that isn't the Santa outfit used for visits to HdelaG perchance?
I was proud to be part of the protest today in support of the abused.
There was a lot of interest being shown in this protest by holiday-makers. I had to use my limited French vocabulary to explain to some foreign tourists what exactly happens in the big building in the Royal Square. I was only too happy to explain what should happen but went to great pains to say that: it is not always the case and that most, not all, are elected to serve the people of the island but, unfortunately, some forget that bit and please themselves instead.
I also told them that we were all in The Square this day to witness the "Swearing In" of the New Bailiff, the only unelected member of our Parliament and his word is law. Now how can that possibly be democratic.
Continue your fight Senator Syvret I saw today that many who don't come out into the open support you.
Truth Will Out
Ah I see that "Shriva" or similar has openly come out as the spokesperson for the AG etal. Now we know where PJ gets its inside information from. Oops - does that mean this person he/she has broken the data protection law by making statements relating to the failure of the AG to hold child abusers accountable.
Perhaps Stuart you should make a copy of this?????????????
May I also add it is not the "quantity" of numbers that attend a demonstration, it is the "quality" of thier greivances. Too many people on the island of Jersey are afraid to exercise their rights to demonstrate because of reprecusions.
I could go on and on at the failures of the AG - however I will add this. There is NO WAY you are going to get a fair and just hearing on the island of Jersey. One questions if the charges are made by the man in charge of the Judicial system in Jersey he cannot be seen in any way to be involved in the court proceedings, the appointment of Judges, etc., etc., This has got to be one of the worst examples of the States of Jersey failing to comply with the Human Rights treaty, not only in your case, but also in the cases he has chosen to bin.
Funny how you didn't make it to the protest Ryan M.
Gonna huff and puff and blow your house down!!
Why not keep your trap shut, when you had no intention og getting down to the square. Too scared of who might see you.
Stuart,
The public had the right to see that superb Police report, put together by Detective Inspector Faudemer. What were they hopeing to do with that report destroy it? No you were absolutely right to put that information on your blog. And where is Faudemer in all this?
Hi I work in Finance but not born here but have lived a good few years in Jersey.
I do give a damn about your cause and was at the Protest on Saturday cheering on everyone who spoke, if I could I would have been there this morning (Next Time perhaps?) making as much noise as I could what a load of Pompous Twats.
Fight the Good Fight Stuart Truth will out in the end.
Good on you protestors one and all, thank you for getting off your backsides and placing your reputations on the line - just remember that Greenpeace started off as a very small organisation.
As for the blogger that commented on the apparel of protestors - GET A LIFE!
The pomp and pagentry displayed by the hoi polloi is to enhance their standing in the eyes of the peasants - oh and Stuart Jean Paul Gautier - no ........err Peter ' I'd like a yard of ermine' Crill!
Anonymous (sarcastically) said:
"I have decided to block out my statement for fear that one day, I shall get a knock at the door from SJP and have something nasty happen to me........I wish to remain Anonymous as , one never knows who i reading this comment."
It was actually the SOJP who advised survivors to remain anonymous and keep a low profile especially with the press. It is not the police who most of us fear - it is the evil, self-serving arrogant and unrepentant people who have harmed children and will do anything they can to protect themselves and each other.
"Funny how you didn't make it to the protest Ryan M.
Gonna huff and puff and blow your house down!!
Why not keep your trap shut, when you had no intention og getting down to the square. Too scared of who might see you."
Aha, I know you, A Nonny Mouse, or should I say, Mr Mole?
Coming here to hurl abuse at us all again, have you? Don't you have anything more constructive to do?
Ryan, please don't let this nastiness bother you.
Mr Syvret, you are an elected member of the States who is meant to be representing the people of this Island as a whole. I found your behaviour today in the Royal Square extremely disappointing.
Do you not realise that by acting in the manner you do you are making it virtually impossible for the average man in the street to take you seriously or to listen to you at all, even when you have a good point to make. Like the boy who cried "wolf."
Stuart.
Have just put this up http://voiceforchildren.blogspot.com/2009/07/saturday-july-4th-2009.html and will have today's events up in a day or so.
You may have found my behaviour “disappointing”.
Many people – of all ages – who have been neglected, abused, assaulted, savagely battered, tortured, raped and sodomised when the were children - in the “care” of the States of Jersey – have found my “behaviour” – and I quote – “absolutely fantastic”, “brilliant”, “courageous”, “principled”, “honest”, “brave” - etc.
“Stuart, you are the first and only States member to listen to us, take us seriously and believe us”.
Perhaps those views, and others like them, which are routinely expressed to me, are minority views. Perhaps most people in Jersey prefer the establishment equation of “politeness” over the truth.
You know what?
I just don’t care.
I’m doing – and I’m saying – what I believe to be right - necessary - and good.
If that’s turned the voting public against me – well, that’s just tough.
I will not be deflected by considerations of short-term self-interest.
If I never garnered another vote in my life – frankly, I’d leave politics a relieved man – and a man who could hold his head up high.
Stuart.
Thanks Zoompad.
He/She probably is still upset that I picked on their grammar a while back. Poor fellow.
If that's what it's about - I didn't realise it would upset you so much. If I upset you over that slight issue then I do apologise. But if you get upset over that, how do you react to big issues?
Was I scared of who I might see? Why yes indeed, Sarah Ferguson in particular isn't nice to look at - even Lenny Henry had the audacity to make fun of her looks I believe when he was at the opera house.
All joking aside, if you're an abuse victim - I'm on your side. If I hurt your feelings beforehand, I apologise.
However,if you're a perpetrator of one of these crimes, or part of the great cover-up - why do you insist on commenting on tiny things that aren't a real problem.
Zoompad, in all reality, being an anonymous on this blog makes them look powerful - because we don't know how many of them there are. There could be one hundred - there could be one. They're not fooling any of us.
Let's argue some good issues chaps (apart from grammar, that makes a few tetchy). If you want to meet up as part of a political group - by all means let's do it.
If you want to contact me if you have a problem, click on the link where my e-mail is.

Mr Syvret, you are an elected member of the States who is meant to be representing the people of this Island as a whole. I found your behaviour today in the Royal Square extremely disappointing. "
Who are you then, and what are you doing to help the people who were abused as children to get justice?
Dear Mr.Syvret,
I was born and grow uo in Jersey, but moved away some 30 years ago. Now I am so shocked to hear and see what a few well paid, high up, better then all of us States'mebers have made of this great Island. I can only hope that you are able to bing the truth on the light of day.Which has to be in intrest to all who wish to belive in a fair rule by the people of Jersey. I wish you all the luck and help you may need.
A old and sad Jersey man.

Yes you are and bless you for it. When the news came out from HDLG back in 2008 I was feeling quite desperate and lost. I feared for my friends of so long ago and I feared for my sanity as I knew I had to come forward and tell the police what I knew. I had never spoken to anyone about it before - not even my family.
When I found this blog it was like a life raft to cling on to. You gave me the courage to do what I could to support other survivors. You understood how people were feeling and you got alongside.
Disappointed in you? I am disappointed in the rest of the Senators, Deputies and all the clowns in fancy dress today. I know who most onlookers would have respected most.
You do this for us and we truly thank you for what you do - whatever clothes you wear!

"Mr Syvret, you are an elected member of the States who is meant to be representing the people of this Island as a whole. I found your behaviour today in the Royal Square extremely disappointing."
Pray, Mr/s Anonymous tell us why? As one of the protestors what I find disappointing is the reluctance of ALL the other States Members to show any shred of interest at all in the corrupt justice system in this Island, and in particular to the victims of child abuse, some of whom formed part of the protest.
Why hide behind the cloak of anonimity? You could have approached any one of us or indeed Senator Syvret himself at the protest and made your feelings known, as indeed did quite a number of people actually supporting and praising the stance taken, and, I may hasten to add NOT all local people, but some who have heard through the national press what is going on here.
Yes, Senator Syvret is elected to represent the whole Island, and that is exactly what he is doing, whereas the majority of the rest do not give a monkeys about anything other than the prestige they think their position brings them.
Be disappointed by all means, but with the right politicians!
Stuart
When trying to explain the Jersey system to friends, I googled several old video links to you from early 2008. In one, you were essentially telling the press you had no faith that justice could be served against the child abusers in Jersey under an oligarchy which considered immage above all else.
I can't post the links, but I do think a brief compilation of some of your earliest statements regarding Haut de la Garenne, combined with a few very recent ones, make it quite clear that nearly everything has unfolded EXACTLY as you predicted.
Maybe one of your more tech savy readers can help? The increase in newer readers suggests many may not have known much about this story last year.
Stuart, I do believe in miracles, even if we may have to create our own. This latest outrage can have a silver lining for the abuse survivors and those who care about Jersey's human rights. A concise background story line of this scandal could be helpful to those who can help organise international supporters for a UK political pressure campaign.
Each time the oligarchy vainly attempts to stamp out free speech, the world takes a closer look. Ironic, isn't it, when they thought they could silence you, even arrest you, all to cultivate their reputation as a clean democracy?
The trouble with this blog is that when someone expresses an opinion that is different from that of Stuart and his small group of supporters, they get shot down immediately with some form of aggressive (and often abusive) response.
There is no room for any reasonable debate.
There is more reasoned debate on this bog than you'll find in the mainstream Jersey media.
Not one of the island's traditional news outlets even contemplate publishing material seriously critical of themselves.
Since when could readers of the JEP have ongoing critical debates with the editor of said journal?
It is true I don't publish all critical comments - for reasons explained many times previously - so I'm not going over it all again.
The one point I'll make is that the ordinary people of Jersey - and those who have tried to represent them, like me - have been trampled, abused, slandered, oppressed, excluded and silenced by the Jersey mainstream media - for decades.
Well - now the boot is on the other foot since the advent of citizen media.
How does it feel?
Stuart
"they get shot down immediately with some form of aggressive (and often abusive) response. "
Is that so? That's a shame, isn't it?
I suppose you'll have to make allowances for the aggression and abuse of those responses. Think on the positive side though - at least if we child abuse survivors are able to get worked up and a bit tetchy, that means we are less likely to get depressed and suicidal.
Another positive, is that, if people are able to feel able to stand up for each other, if they feel that one of their friends is getting unjustly knocked down, it means that the awful abuse they suffered as children has not destroyed them as human beings. That's quite a miracle, when you consider what some of us have been through. I think it's a good thing, don't you?
Living as I do away from Jersey, I read the online version of the "Jersey Evening Post".
Given that newspaper's editorial outlook I was unsurprised not to see any reportage of the demonstration in the Square. That was to be expected.
But there is not a word about the inauguration of the new Bailiff either.
Could these two be connected in some way?
Best wishes to all those who took the time and the trouble to make their heartfelt feeling heard today.
H.A.
Stuart, good luck from Lisbon, you're a brave man.
Joana
Re: Anonymous commenter who just complained, "There is no room for any reasonable debate."
It is important that Stuart be able to maintain this as his OWN BLOG, which he maintains primarily for the sake of seeking justice for abuse survivors. There are numerous other Jersey FORUMS already designated for the purpose of debate between those who speak for the corrupt dictatorship and those who defend the voiceless.
Why would Stuart or his readers wish to read still more nasty pro-oligarchy drivel when the island's press is utterly drowning in it already?
If not for this blog, the international community could believe all the people of Jersey were like B. Riantz and Jon, bizarrely motivated to fume against victims, but quick to protect the rights of those whom solid evidence shows to be child molesters, lying officials, and cover-up artists in order to protect the finance industry.
In the long term, I assure you that it has been only the oligarchy itself shafting the name of Jersey internationally, as no one off island now believes anything your evil officials say. The finance industry will defeat its own purpose if it becomes ever more associated with the protection of paedophiles, which seems likely. You do your industry no favors when you attack the truth seekers, because your motives are so obvious.
i was having lunch with a very old friend the other day ,and i happened to mention to her ,that i thought it was terrible that the abuse victims dont seem to be getting any justice ,i also said i thought you were a very honourable man ,she looked at me as if i was quite mad ,and said "that syvret guy was crazy
why do people attack you in this way it is beyond belief,i pointed out to her that you were the only one fighting for justice ,and she just looked at me blankly ,and that m afraid is the attitude of alot of local people ,they take the J E p as the truth ,i wish you all the very best ,you are a truly good man x
I just listened to a programme on Radio 4 relating to the Abuse Survivors in Ireland. It was a most interesting programme and related how the Irish Government is dealing with historic child abuse.
At least in Ireland, I say at least the Irish Government DID apologise to the Abuse Survivors and even though it has taken years they did set up Redress Hearings for Abuse Survivors. These were indeed not run as efficiently as possible, however it did give the Abused the right to be heard and most were given compensation.
A few, quite rightly so, took their cases through the civil courts, indeed a very traumatic experience for the survivor, but one man would not accept the compensation offered at the end of the trial, he felt the most important thing to him was for a personal apology from the Irish Government and above all an apology from the Christian Brothers who had physically, mentally and sexually abused him over a period of years.
In most major cities in the UK the Irish Abuse suffers have had people to help them to take their complaints through the system.
Next week the Irish Government are discussing the extension of the Redress courts so that those who have failed to make complaint will be given a further period of time to register and have their grievances heard.
What a great pity the Jersey Government did not accept responsibility for the children who were placed in care and suffered at the hands of abusers.
What a great shame that the Government of Jersey, the Judiciary are more concerned with covering this up instead of accepting that Abuse did Happen - people have suffered, it was the Government of that day who were responsible for the care of these children.
By taking the route they have decided to take they have brought disgrace upon your island. It is all too plain for the world to see that Money is more important than Justice.
They may think this will die a death, sadly all they are achieving is igniting more and more flames - it is going to take a long long time for the fire in the abused to been dampened down, all that is happening at the moment is the fire is being fuelled regularly by the gross failures of addressing these serious matters.
Mr AG it is not going to go away, no matter how hard you try, They will take you through the Civil Courts, that is their right. You cannot, you do not have the power to take their rights away, in the same way the numerous kangaroo courts set up by contributors to many blogs, forums etc count for nothing.
You cannot take away their dignity.
Power to you Stuart. The crap spouted by those who choose to undermine you also counts for nothing. I think the majority of people who read your blog and submit comments do indeed support you. The ones who don;t are indeed entitled to their opinion, you allow the freedom of expression but since this is your domain you do indeed have the right to reject obnoxious posters who want more than anything to undermine people, who through no fault of their own have suffered abuse in many forms.
The world is watching, Jersey
Good to know Jersey is top in one area! (From JEP report)
"It is estimated that 250 potential paedophiles should be on the list and that 25 of them are high-risk offenders. Currently, offenders can be monitored only if they agree that the police can watch them."
These must be only ones without "connections".
Quote from you:
There is more reasoned debate on this bog than you'll find in the mainstream Jersey media.
Typo or comment on the island?
The topography is very nice, if the "care" workers somewhat shifty in places.
"Disappointing"?
Yes I find certain peoples' behaviour a tad disappointing too to put it very mildly - Law Officers mainly.
When it come to Child Protection issues (and those who have suffered it and survived but are still ignored) I could find some very strong words indeed.
