There is the law.... and then there is justice.

If a fine upstanding member of society rapes a educationaly subnormal victim and leaves no DNA and there is no independent corroboration.... even if the victim makes a complaint... the chances of a conviction may be very slight...

this does not negate the evil crime it just illustrates that the law and justice are often miles apart.

Yeah - the McGuires were clever like that - simply confining their criminality to 12 years worth of child torture, and in the case of "Big Al" sexually molesting little girls.

That way, they've been able to retire to the sunny south of France - on big, fat public sector pensions - given the comparative 'triviality' of their offences - compared to such heinous crimes as helping a disabled British ex-serviceman apply for a postal vote - or, in my case, forgetting to renew your driving licence.

In the case of the JDA 2 it's rabid condemnation from The Rag and the rest of the Jersey oligarchy media - and a £12,000 fine.

And in my case, I've been referred to court - a court that is intrinsically incapable of meeting the test of the appearance of objectivity.

But - in Jersey oligarchy land - "we're all equal before the law!"

So next time I'm inclined to commit some criminal offence - I'll just get hold of a little boy - and snap his arm on the side of a chair - just like Jane McGuire did to one of the children.

That kind of criminality will be just fine as far as Barking Bill Bailhache and Mick Birt are concerned.

I fully intend to let your comment through - once I've had time to write a response to it.

Your comment is garbage - suffering as it does from both an ignorance of the actual evidence in some of the cases referred to - and a wilful misrepresentation of the reasoning behind prosecutions, at least as one would find it in a civilised jurisdiction.

There is no way on Earth the McGuire's prosecution would not have been carried through to a conclusion - had they been on-trial in any EU country.

Bill Bailhache has corruptly let them off the hook - to protect Michale Birt - and to keep them out of court, where they would spill their guts and make sure they took dozens of others down with them; in fact - that being precisely the same reason as why Bill - Gangster - Bailhache will not prosecute all the others as well.

I have just decided to pluck up the courage to watch the link that was posted by Polo regarding the Irish abuse scandal.

Perhaps I should have been prepared, but I had to take 'time out' after watching to reflect on the impact, and the powerful watching that this was.

All that poor man wanted was justice. His frustration, desperation, anger, despair, hopelessness, sadness and courage were all displayed in his voice and emotions. His appreciation to his wife who had also had to deal with the consequences of what happened to him was humbling, and obviously being in the later stages of his life, as he said, he is NOT interested in money, just JUSTICE.

That man was not lying or making it up, but 100% genuine. Jersey survivors, you are believed and must now fight for the same reasons. You have waited too long for nothing to happen.

On a different tack Stuart, do the Jersey Police State Force liken you to one of the Krays, having to send two of them to your door to deliver a letter! Blimey, they must be struggling for things to do, or do they like the leafy lanes of Grouville, because the public are always complaining that there is a shortage of police presence in town.

Finally, if you want to 'hit' the JEP, which is no less than they deserve after this week's episodes, the best way is to deprive them of their main source of revenue which is advertising income. They are a disgrace.

The JEP is owned by a UK newspaper group. May I suggest that if care leavers are insulted by the comment in the JEP they approach the company who own the JEP and request a front page apology by the person who wrote this comment. They should also request if it was part of the terms of the sale by the Guiton Group that the JEP editor et al were to share a bed with the Establishment. I would also suggest that it also be let known that the JEP is being boycotted by numerous Jersey residents because of it's continued insult towards Care Leavers and those who support the Care Leavers in their fight for Justice.

I would also suggest if this comment is offensive to those who suffered at the hands of the McGuires and detrimental in their search for justice the JEP could be summonsed through the UK courts because the parent company is a UK
based.

This is beyond contempt and what in Gods do the media think that they are playing at, where was the phone in this morning, why is the article of the victims press release in Fridays JEP not on the “This is Jersey” site and why is no one allowed to comment????????? I saw those two ladies on Channel TV on Thursday’s six o’clock news and my heart went out to them, the stronger lady had real compassion and conviction in her voice but what of the care leaver lady on BBC Channel Island News, was that the best she could do by stating that she was younger than the AG saying something along the lines that she had more time than him to turn this around!!! She could be hit by a bus tomorrow and that would be the end of it. WE NEED ACTION NOW
