If his mother did work there, is she one of the accused? If she did work there does that make her guilty of the crimes or of covering them up? It is entirely probable that only the abusers and abused knew what was going on. if you follow this line of thought then maybe the abusers friends and family are also guilty, indeed maybe the whole island is guilty! In response to the comment made by Stuart, isn't it vaguely hypocritical that you accuse Montfort of siding with certain members. He was quick to point out at the time that none of them involved children or animals - as though this made it OK.

It seems if it was only the rape, torture and mutilation of women and men that was involved - that was just fine in his book.

The fatal and obvious flaw in his argument is that most - if not all of the participants in those illegal films would have been unwilling. They will have been the week, the vulnerable, the poor, drug-addicted women, desperate for their next fix etc, etc.

By buying into such barbarism you are creating a market for such things - thus motivating and encouraging gang-bosses to carry on abusing people in these monstrous ways.

And they were monstrous - essentially, many of the films were so bad they may well have been 'snuff-movies'.

Such was the degree of violence and torture depicted in some of them, the women involved probably ended-up face-down in a river in Bangkok after their ordeals.

However, I can't accept your contention that such things are worse than child abuse. Very, very close to it, to be sure, but there is that additional vulnerability of children. If vulnerable adults can be tortured and mutilated in such ways - imagine what these people do to children.

On second thoughts - don't.

StuartSenator Stuart Syvrethttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02133826278608795054noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7124117913567332282.post-92210578059221691782009-07-08T10:38:47.217+01:002009-07-08T10:38:47.217+01:00Interesting comments from Ole Razzy on PJ : "I ha...Interesting comments from Ole Razzy on PJ :

"I have a friend over from New Zealand at the moment. Its the first time he's been to Jersey. His hobby is filming. We went for a walk around St. Helier harbour yesterday and up over Mount Bingham. Occasionally we would stop and he'd film a few seconds of footage then we'd move on.

"When we got to La Collette he asked me about the buidling works (in his day job he's a civil engineer) and I explained that our government had recently agreed to build a new incinerator. He got his camera out and started to film the construction site.

"Within 2 minutes this site manager type in high viz bib and hard hat comes running over waving his arms and shouting that we are not allowed to film anything as its against the law. Now I work in TV so know the rules (which I explained to him in my poshest English accent) and he backed off. So I asked him what the big deal was and do you know what he said?

He said something along the lines of "We are under strict instructions not to allow anybody to film or take photos of the construction of this building as we are very concerned that people like Stuat Syvret or any of his green mates will try and stitch us up".

How strange is that? What the hell have they got to hide? Who is telling these guys to look out for stuff like this? Is this a political directive? More questions then answers I'm afraid.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
